Jan Yelen

Professional Background

Jan A. Yelen, a native of Miami, Florida, is an attorney and the Managing Partner/President of Yelen Yelen & Simon, P.A. As the second generation with this long-established family firm, she specializes in estate planning, probate and trust administration, guardianship cases and transactional real estate matters. Ms. Yelen has been a member of the Florida Bar for over thirty years and is an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell. She has handled the probate and trust administration for hundreds of estates and guardianships throughout the State of Florida during her 30+ years of practice in Florida. She is also a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar.

Ms. Yelen first worked for the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C. as staff council. In 2011, Ms. Yelen was selected to be a member of the Advisory Council at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Department of Neurology. Jan is currently the acting Trustee of the Kimmelman Foundation.

Education

Ms. Yelen graduated from Emory University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, being a dual major in history and economics. She earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1980 from University of Florida School of Law, where she served as the Senior Executive Editor of the Florida Law Review.
